My name is Happy Kunene

My name is Happy Kunene, I live in Hammarsdale (unit 6) I was born in Pietermaritzburg in a small rural area called Table Mountain but I didn’t grow up there because the whole family moved to Hammersdale in the early nineties. I am a mother of two children, a boy and girl and I am also expecting a baby soon.

I have a matric and I also worked as a carer at Ledomaine care centre, for five years where the sisters saw the potential and energy in me, they encouraged me to go to college to study a nursing course. In 2011 I attended college and did a staff nursing course which I completed in 2013 and I was called back to Ledomaine to work as a staff nurse there.

In 2014 I was employed by the Kloof Rest Home as a staff nurse to do night duty, this is where I discovered that there was a need to study further as a sister, as there are a lot of responsibilities during the night shift. In 2015 I went back to college again for a budging course as a sister and I completed it in 2017. I am currently still working at KRH as a night sister and I really enjoy working here at KRH.
