Who We Are

A Century of Care, Still Growing

Kloof Retirement Villages is KZN's oldest retirement organisation — a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) caring since 1904. We manage five retirement villages in Kloof, Hillcrest and Winston Park, plus the Winston Park Care Centre — offering every level of care from independent living to frail and palliative care, so our residents never have to move away from the people who know them.

Residents here don't retire from life. They pursue it — in established gardens, in familiar community, and with the security of knowing that care is on hand the day it's needed.

Life at Kloof

Surrounded by Community, Comfort & Care

Everything about the villages is designed for independence today — and reassurance for whatever comes next.

01

Community & Leisure

Established gardens, social calendars and neighbours who become friends. A village, in the true sense.

02

Health & Wellness

A full continuum of care on one campus — independent living, assisted living at Vian House, and frail care at Winston Park.

03

Everyday Ease

Maintained grounds and buildings, a Maintenance Stabilisation Fund, and management that handles the practical so you don't have to.

04

Practical Reassurance

PBO governance, accountable to the community. Decisions made for residents — not for return on investment.

Assisted Living & Frail Care

Every Level of Care, on One Continuum

From a short respite stay to round-the-clock nursing — the care grows with you, so you never start over with strangers. As a registered PBO, every rand goes back into the homes, gardens, kitchens and care.

KZN's oldest retirement organisation — a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) caring for the Upper Highway community since 1904. We manage five retirement villages (Chartwell, Greenacres, Kingfisher Crest, Krantzkloof Park and Vian Village), plus the Winston Park Care Centre and Vian House.
Where are your retirement villages located?
All in the Upper Highway area of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Chartwell Estate and Vian Village in Winston Park, Greenacres and Krantzkloof Park Estates in Kloof, and Kingfisher Crest Estate in Hillcrest.
What is a Life Right?
You purchase the right to live in your unit for life, governed by the Housing Development Scheme for Retired Persons Act 65 of 1988 — with no transfer duty and no VAT. It is simpler and more affordable than sectional title.

Yes — the Winston Park Care Centre offers respite, assisted living, semi-frail, frail and palliative care, and Vian House offers assisted living. Respite is a fixed R972.00 per day, all-inclusive.
